Good advice

"My father always said, 'Never argue with someone whose TV is bigger than their bookshelf.'"

Oh shit, on the diagonal my cinema/tv screen is 9 metres ;)

Explains a lot. ;-)

But seriously: 9m!! WTF?

One of my sons hates books. The other loves them. Both are intelligent, knowledgeable, and willing to argue with me - albeit the bookworm perhaps more, at least explicitly. Does that fit with that advice?

@MarkT: Probably depends on the size of the TV he's bought and paid for.

He’s not spending any money on TV’s because he doesn’t need to. His parents provide them for him. But he chooses to spend lots of money on drones and none on books. Perhaps that is consistent though. TV’s are passive, requiring nothing of you except to sit and absorb (or not) often with minimal effort. Reading a book, or flying a drone requires active engagement.
