I used to be believe this without qualification. Now I still believe in it, but with a significant qualification. Rarely in conflicts between people or ideas is one side 100% right and the other side 100% wrong. This is where it becomes somewhat 'grey'. You have to separate truth and falsehoods on both sides to the best of your abilities. Or if one side is completely wrong and the other side only partially wrong, sometimes give your qualified support to the partly wrong. For instance we can support Trump taking a strong stands against Iran or North Korea (when he does it), without excusing his other faults. Or we can recognize the grain of truth to the socialists condemnation of the current economic system (fiat money, credit creation, etc), without accepting their faulty conclusion that capitalism per se is to blame. I'm confident Ayn Rand understood this qualification, but chose not to highlight it. As a result many of her exponents misapply her quotes such as the one above, and are too quick to assign either adoration or condemnation to one side or the other.
