Economics for Real People: John Nash, and the reconstruction of Political Economy in mathematical terms

Stepping outside economics for real people again, this week folks at the Auckland Uni Economics Group will instead be looking at maths.

Earlier this year the remarkable life of John Nash and his wife Alicia was brought to a sudden and tragic end. In this seminar, Matthew Ryan from the Economics Department at AUT provides a reflection on Nash’s contributions to economics, as well as to social science more broadly.
It is the story of the reconstruction of Political Economy in mathematical terms.

Date: Thursday, 24 September
Time: 6-7pm
Location: Lecture Theatre Three (OGGB3), Level Zero, Business School

All welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

PS: Keep up to date with the Auckland Uni Economics Group on our 2015 Facebook page.

Risk Savvy - how to make good decisions by Gerd Gigerenzer
Part of this book is how to better present statistics in a form than the general public can understand. Not really related to Economics, but it is getting close to Xmas and so here's a recommended read for you
