Raw food is not real food

A diet consisting only of raw, uncooked food is one of many fad diets currently fashionable, one purporting to be healthy.

Sadly, for my many friends partaking of the fad,

eating a raw food diet is a recipe for disaster if you’re trying to boost your … brainpower. That’s because humans would have to spend more than 9 hours a day eating to get enough energy from unprocessed raw food alone to support our large brains.

As I like to say to my vegetarian friends, it is ironic that if our ancestors hasn't eaten meat, you wouldn't have a brain big enough to contemplate the morality of eating meat.

Whilst cooking/processing makes food easier to digest, it also takes some of the good stuff out. Sure, trying to live on raw food alone might not be healthy - but for most of us a greater proportion of raw food in our diet would probably be a good thing.

Let's free ourselves from the dietocrats! On something completely different. The government is proposing to make early childhood education compulsory for those on the DPB. This includes widows or women whose partners leave them for another woman or whatever circumstances not of their making. I have asked for those who have experience personal tragedy to be exempted from these requirements for 2 years. I don't think compulsory preschool serves either the widow or her young child after the loss of a husband and a Daddy. It should be her choice to choose what is best for her child. Separation anxiety is increased in a time of grief. This welfare reform will have unintended negative consequences for women and children during a most vulnerable season. While I have significant concerns about the welfare state, I do think these changes make it even worse. My personal story here : http://www.buildyourwebsite.co.nz/submission-regarding-welfare-reforms-to-the-dpb/

If God didn't want us to eat animals, how come he filled them with meat?

My dentist's son went on a raw food diet and destroyed his teeth, his father was grieving that he had to remove them.

So, does it mean that I have to cook my fruits first? But I have tried cooking my oranges, apples, pears, etc,..., not that tasty as eating them raw.

Meat is fantastic. Had you considered that raw meat (and fish) could be a way to survive on raw 'unprocessed' food? I do not really recommend this though...
