"So no, there should be no mandatory vaccines for private citizens not employed by the state, nor mandatory vaccine passports to travel internally, but property owners and individuals have every right to impose their own rules on who they allow onto their property, who they hire, trade with and interact with.
"You don't have a right to force someone to get vaccinated, but you also don't have the right to force someone to employ or trade with you if you choose not to."

It is baffling to me how people are finding this simple concept so difficult. The number of times I've heard "but I thought you were a libertarian" when I tell them I'll be requiring proof of vaccination to enter my business... disappointing.
Sure the vaccinated have the right not to associate with the un-vaccinated but it is irrational to do so, the un-vaccinated pose no danger to the vaccinated.
precisely. If you are "vaccinated" then you are, on balance, safe. So what is your problem, behave as though you are safe, why are you cowering behind an ineffective mask?

Something went wrong there. As I was saying, It’s perfectly rational when both the chances of transmission, and the chances of being seriously sick and requiring time off work decrease when vaccinated.
Yes, of course an employer can insist on any prerequisite for an employee. But what we have here is Hipkins saying health workers must be vaccinated. This is not coming from their employer.
They find this concept difficult perhaps because they understand science. This is not the smallpox, measles, or polio vaccine which produces sterilizing immunity. Getting these mRNA or advector vaccines doesn't stop you from catching SARS-CoV-2, nor from passing it on. In that context, vaccine "passports" make no sense at all. But of course, in this mass madness we're witnessing now, logic and science have nothing to do with it. Rather, we're perishing in an orgy of self-sacrificing and "do something!"
