"Businesses have a huge interest in keeping their people safe from Covid and they can do it faster than governments..."

"We, and others, have operated in some of the most Covid-ravaged countries in the world and we have kept our Kiwi staff Covid-free for more than a year and a half because of the protocols that have been put in place by the businesses we work with. . .
"What we have learned from our experience over the past year and a half is that businesses have a huge interest in keeping their people safe from Covid and they can do it faster than governments..."

NZ was covid-free because of near air-tight border measures. That era is over, and it's being demonstrated every day in Australia with rocketing cases despite insane restrictions, and will soon be seen in NZ as well, I'm afraid. The evidence is pretty clear at this point. Sweden showed the way -- the only thing they could have done better is to administer oxygen instead of morphine in care homes, and treat early with about half-dozen repurposed pharmaceuticals. NPIs don't work with aerosolized viruses. The jury was out over a year ago, when constant surveillance under the conditions of extremely low prevalence, kept the virus from taking hold in dozens of countries. That's over now. The virus has multiple animal reservoirs. It's time to come to grips with the fact that we have never eliminated a virus where this is the case, much less without a vaccine offering sterilizing immunity. Of course, the public globally is being fed a pack of lies while keeping up the fear and the propaganda and silencing those speaking the truth.

There is perhaps ONE thing businesses could do that would be of some use, and that's ventilation/UV sterilization. Nothing else is going to work. It's not a droplet-borne disease. The virus is highly aerosolized, so distancing and masks won't work.
