Crikey, this guy knows what he's talking about. ;-)

Shameless. A personal plug for your own press release? Send it Scoop. It seems they'll believe anything these days! ;-)

Seriously though, interesting thoughts. I think your press release could be strengthened by a bit more evidence for your very strong claims. The only actual instance you refer to is a random name "adrian chisholm" I believe, which is left dangling in the wind with nothing to back it up. Don't you have more than that?

Oh, and there's a rogue set of quotation marks on the lose in the first paragraph. You might want to tidy that up before you send it over to the Scoop folks. (Not that they can spell or edit, so they'd never notice). On the plus side, you use principle correctly, which is becoming ever rarer. I see the PM and the Labour caucus got it wrong again yesterday.

OK, I'll stop now.

BB you said: " Shameless. A personal plug for your own press release? Send it to Scoop."

I did - amongst other places. If you check the date it was July 23, 2002 - that was the ~last~ election. 'Plus ca change' etc.

Adrian Chisholm was the co-founder of Abolish Bureaucratic Crime; Keith Berryman was an early member. Adrian's battle against being done over by Auckland City Council made him at one time a contender for NBR's New Zealander of the Year Award. His case, known as 'Sludgegate,' was moderately well-known at the time to those who gave a shit about these things (pardon the pun). You can find contemporary reports of the trial here. You'll notice a few familiar names. Including that of Scoop. :-)

D'oh! Note to self: check dates on documents. Thanks for the extra info. Sludgegate had indeed passed me by.
