US presidential candidates quiz

The 2Decide website has a quick quiz for you to rank US presidential candidates' platforms against what yours might be, giving scores out of a possible 125 [Hat tip Richard]. Here's my tally below, showing there's no one with whom I agree more than about one-quarter of the time. Based on this alone you'd have to say I'd be staying home on voting day. How 'bout you?

Rudy Giuliani (R) 33
John McCain (R) 32
Duncan Hunter (R) 18
Tommy Thompson (R) 12
Sam Brownback (R) 12
Mike Gravel (D) 7
Tom Tancredo (R) 3
Ron Paul (R) 2
Bill Richardson (D) -3
John Cox (R) -5
Huckabee (R) -8
Mitt Romney (R) -12
Dennis Kucinich (D) -13
Barrack Obama (D) -22
John Edwards (D) -23
Chris Dodd (D) -28
Hillary Clinton (D) -33
Joe Biden (D) -33

UPDATE: Oops, you have to be careful about answering some of the questions since not all are set up as you might think. I've updated my scores to reflect a run through that more closely reflects my views.

I think the Thompson refers to Tommy, not Fred. Fred hasn't declared himself yet.

Ah, well spotted.

The politician that agreed with my viewes the most was... Ron Paul! fancy that. The 3 politicians that agree with me least were Romney, Hunter and Giuliani (at least 2 of whom were Republicans). Trouble with those politicians who want to force American taxpayers to pay for policing the world, is that they will make life hell for those same Americans by bugging and torturung them and blocking their access to the means of self-defence.

Whoops, at least 3 typos in that last post, the standards are slipping. Apologies all round.

My scores - all Democrats ahead of all Republicans. Only two Republicans with positive scores - Paul (17) and McCain (1). Clear front-runner - Kucinich (39).

My conclusion - this test is worse than useless.

I suspect you're right, Richard G., since the three of us are all over the map [but then you two are Saddamites, of course ;^) ] but it did at least encourage me to check out some of those no-name candidates.

Trouble is they are currently trying to win approval from their Dem or Repub bases, which include the extremists.

From a selfish pov I'd go for Guiliani, McCain, Hunter, Fred Thompson and Hilary because they'd generally be better on the WoT and trade. Guiliani and Fred being my top picks.

I think the test is useless - though I haven't had the time to do the test since I have now resigned and attend work from 10am to lunch and from lunch for half an hour before I go home at 3pm.

I base this on the fact that John McKey was only a point behind Giuliani in PC's rankings and Baracks for Osama came out ahead of Hellary.

Anyway, I've typed too much and I'm tired. Time to go read SOLOP and RoR.

The test is worthless because it makes so much assumptions. Doesn't ask you why you oppose certain things and what your alternative solutions would be. Here are my results and seeing as I know what all the main candidates positions are I can tell you it is waaaaaay off.
