Meddling arsehole stops Whangamata project

This is what a meddling arsehole looks like (left). Chris Carter, MP, has just stepped in to reject the application to build a $10 million marina in Whangamata after consent for the project had already been granted by the Environment Court. Carter knows more than the courts.

We can only imagine how it looks like to the applicants (right) who have spent over $1 million and fourteen years -- fourteen bloody years! -- shepherding this application through the court system where all possible issues were aired, only to have it stamped on by this meddling arsehole once success in court was achieved.

Take note that New Zealand today is what the rule of men and not the rule of law looks like. Why have law and courts of law when dictators like Carter and Co know best?

And take note too, those who will complain about a Labour minister doing the meddling, that the Resource Management Act that allows this meddling was originally brought in by a National Party minister, Simon Upton. The two parties are as bad as each other.

Chris Carter: 20 gallons of shit in a 5 gallon bag.

And how fucking sickening to see the comments from the local Iwi: "but someone may make money from buying and selling bits of coastline."

Why would anyone with half a brain, bother doing any sort of investment or development in NZ with this sort of crap going on.
Invest overseas...

Exactly.

Of course iwi too were denied by a Labour Government the possibility of proving in court their claim. In their case, the claim to ownership might well have resulted in someone making money from buying and selling bits of coastline.

Sadly, etc...

Yeah, well how many of that Iwi voted for Labour? How many of the pro-Marina mob voted for National and ACT (one gave birth to the RMA and the other that would suckle it should they get the chance)?

If those of you who did want to blame someone for putting Chris Carter and Simon Upton in control of your lives: look in the mirror and give yourself an upper-cut.

It's your fault for voting for Labour, National, ACT and NZ last. You are the ones who delivered this evil. Now bend over and take it like you love it. 'Cause Helen, Don, Rodney and Winnie love giving it to you.

Maybe next time you won't piss away your only chance to remove these tossers from your life and your wallet!

I wonder if any of you "enlightened" types of stood on the spot where the Marina is to be developed? Just upstream from the site is a sewerage aeration pond which leaks about a milk tankers worth of the "good stuff" a day into the creak which runs right past the marina site.

The sewerage is also pumped from the pond and sprayed around the surrounding valley, which runs off into the same stream just stand on the shoreline look down and see it oozing between your toes, you smell it amongst the nearby mangroves, which are growing rapidly on this deposit. Smell it! Swim in it! grovel in it! this is one of the many reasons why you cant have a Marina and further associated exclusive housing developments in Whanga.

Blind developers greed destroying the environment for a short term buck, Oh yeah and who cares about the potential destruction of one of this lands Iconic Surf breaks our coastal lands are being sold off to exclusive interests, no more seaside motorcamps, and no more beach access for all is Chris Carter the only sane one here? Go on, chase your greed, but don't jump up and down making half baked comments about issues you dont understand.
