Grass-roots revolt among the Nats

It had to happen.  There looks to be some sort of grass-roots revolt among National Party members over the imminent introduction of Nick Smith’s insane Emissions Tax Scam.  Story here and here at Whale’s blog, and a new development here at Adolf’s.

More power to those members, I say.

I wish them all the best. If they do pull it off, the whole country will be in your debt.

And if they can do this, they’ll have enough momentum to kick on with the job of giving their party back a spine.

I have been emailing the National MP's for months re this idiotic piece of legislation and have received the standard reply of its not my portfolio however I have forwarded your email to Dr Smith, or in other words bugger off I am not interested in your views. Perhaps, just perhaps if enough people get up in arms about this the Cabinet may take notice, however I am not holding my breath.

Allan,
I'm impressed that you were actually able to get any form of reply. in my experience emails just vanish into a black hole.

Do you hear the people sing? Singing the songs of angry men?

Go Party membership. You need however to have a stirring theme song for this cause.
