The Church of the Immaculate Conception - Giovanni Michelucci

21745559 longarone The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Longarone, Italia, 1966-78, architetto Giovanni Michelucci. [Hat tip ADAO International Portal of Organic Arcjhitecture]

The building and its conception (excuse the unforgiveable pun) are as dramatic as the site.

  1. Looks very nice; those wop chappies certainly know their stuff!

Shame about the medieval witchcraft which takes place inside...

  2. Well said - that certainly is a stunning looking building - cant make up my mind if I really like it or not.

It certainly creates a place I would like to experience though (but not on a sunday when all the weirdos are about!
