Given he blogs, has been incarcerated at Gitmo (or another equivalent) and identified as a potential enemy of the state, he might not be feeling so safe.
If he stopped over in Fiji for a day or two, then he is implicitly supporting the coup, and is therefore likely to be picked up on the next anti-terrorist sweep.
He'll have to try a walk thru Newtown to celebrate.
