Angelina signed for 'Atlas Shrugged'

LOOKS LIKE ALL debates about who should play Dagny Taggart in the forthcoming movie of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged are now just academic, as Variety magazine reports the film-makers have just signed their Dagny: Angelina Jolie.

Who's next?

Can live with that, as long as Brad Pitt isn't John Gault.

If Brad Pitt were playing John Galt, I'd be in favour of Galt being written in somewhat like Adam Selene in Robert Heinlein's 'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.'

In fact for a three-hour movie, that's possibly the best way dramatically to handle Galt's character, IMHO.

would've preferred Nicole Kidman

You're all kidding yourselves.

Jolie doesn't give a f**k about the roles she plays (Tomb Raider! For f---ks sake!?). Her being signed is no indication about how good the plot, the directing, the editing and the writing are. And those are the areas where, on average Hollywood has been scoring poorly in recent decades.

Look at the director and the writers and then tell me your predictions about the celluloid version of Atlas Shrugged!
