"...I am indifferent in this election as to her policy views on any issues other than America's Democracy, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law, as I believe all Americans should be."

A friend writes saying "this sums it up well":
It still amazes me [he says] how many supposedly pro-liberty people are pro-Trump. The enemy of my enemy is most assuredly not always my friend. This judge’s response (below) is one that all pro-liberty people should take. I'm not normally a fan of 'tactical voting' but I think that Project 2025 warrants it.
Here's what the (retired) judge said:
Conservative Judge J. Michael Luttig  just officially endorsed Kamala Harris. It will be the first time Judge Luttig, a veteran of two Republican administrations, has ever voted for a Democrat.
Read this excerpt from his powerful statement on his endorsement:
"America's two political parties are the political guardians of American Democracy. Regrettably, in the presidential election of 2024 there is only one political party and one candidate for the presidency that can claim the mantle of defender and protector of America's Democracy, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law.
"As a result, I will unhesitatingly vote for the Democratic Party's candidate for the Presidency of the United States, Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
"In voting for Vice President Harris, I assume that her public policy views are vastly different from my own, but I am indifferent in this election as to her policy views on any issues other than America's Democracy, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law, as I believe all Americans should be."
Some here down under, of course, need to be reminded that we don't vote in US elections. But as Robert Tracinski reminds us, "any discussion about Trump has to start and end with January 6 — "part of a protracted conspiracy to send fake electors to Congress in order to overturn the results of an election and remain in power against the wishes of the American people" — a "fundamental sin against life in a free society," after which there can be no second chance — and given that, the judge's point itself has merit.

I'm sure he is, just as he was indifferent to the uselessness of GW Bush in power and the even greater uselessness of the likes of Mitt Romney and John McCain. Just as he was indifferent to the Obama's desire for a "fundamental transformation" of the USA, something that we're now well down the track of.

The uselessness of the likes of "Conservartives" like Luttig is what has led to this moment, and even if Trump losses - especially if Trump loses - Mr Luttig is going to find himself even more of a voice in the wilderness of a Harris administration that will push Leftist theory into every corner of the USA.

As yet another example of the latter I see one Sneha Nair, appointed in February as special assistant at the National Nuclear Security Administration, uttering this bilge:
Queer theory informs the struggle for nuclear justice and disarmament. Queer theory helps to shift the perception of nuclear weapons as instruments for security by telling the hidden stories of displacement, illness, and trauma caused by their production and testing.

Obviously Mr Luttig and Mr Tracinski are loftily dismissive of that also, regarding it as a passing phase that will leave no mark. That sort of arrogance is precisely why we have a US military pushing fucking DEI at the likes of West Point. Dutschke's Long March through the Institutions could never have happened without the likes of Luttig and Trancinski on the other side.

As for Jan6, anybody shitting themselves over a bunch of buffoons walking through roped lines, including a clown with horns, has imbibed fully of the Democrat partisan warfare, probably because it's aimed at a common enemy - and not Trump but his 75 million voters.

Meanwhile they support the side that indulged in the farce of the 2020 primary that enabled a senile moron like Biden through. The resulting cover-up of that senility over the last three years, of the guy in charge of nuclear weapons, now admitted to even by the likes of the WaPo, and now the whole Kamala-crowning process.

All that - plus the revelations about the fecklessness of the FBI in their wiretaps, and the 51 Intelligence Community experts on the Hunter Biden laptop - frighten me a hell of a lot more than the Jan6 event and are a far greater warning of totalitarianism to come than anything Trump has actually done, or even said.

Hear hear. Anyone who thinks Harris or any of the Dems are in favour of any kind of democracy are delusional.
