Time for a drinking story

Whatever you think of Churchill’s numerous misadventures with history, you can’t fault his dogged desire for a drink. A regular and often quite large drink.

But this almost caused a serious problem. When he toured the US in1932 to sell his book series on The Great War, prohibition was still in full swing in the New World -- so Churchill did the obvious thing: he asked his doctor to write him a note.
