Drink up. The gods want you to be happy.

Capture

Benjamin Franklin is supposed to have said that wine (or beer) is proof that the gods loves us and want us to be happy.

Look at these photos, captured by Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti of his friends after 1, 2 and 3 glasses of wine, and you might understand him. You might also find it hard to deny that alcohol can be a force for happiness in this world.

He explains how his 3 Glasses project started as a joke with his friends, with the first images capturing the stress and fatigue after a full day’s work….

The best thing about alcohol being swiftlyand enjoyably removing the bark of that stress and fatigue …

There is a saying about wine that I really like [he says] and it's something like this, ‘The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem’. I really wanted to see for myself if that affirmation was in fact true,” he said.
He added: “I started this project because if you search for alcohol on the internet you only can find bad stuff about it. I wanted to show the good side of it - of course, between friends who are drinking responsibly in a good environment. It's like portraits during happy hour.”

And what’s wrong with being happy? (How many bars that you know advertise “miserable hour”?)

So drink up. The gods want you to be happy.

People made happy by alcohol? Never heard of it.
I thought it only made people violent.
Someone will have to let our politicians know this very surprising news!

Freemack above has failed to read or accept the article, in his reflexive response. Alcohol also has a long term consideration. It made me happy for ten years, then silly for another ten, then near dangerous for ten years, then I fell over no problem, they said my liver would be shagged so cut out my right kidney. So now I go to AA, am moderately happy. There are similar history stories with smoking dope.
