The greatest race on earth?

If you don’t have the beard or the tattoos for Ford and Holden racing, then this could be the motor racing for you …

Yes film processing has come a long way in the last 10 years . So now we can make motor bikes go 350km per hour or so. Speed on the Adobe premiere time frame switch . I would like to have seen a more realistic representation of bike racing.

Perhaps this video is more to your liking, Paul, it's an onboard camera during a time trial.

Gladiators are still with us and I love that tax havens exist to allow those inclined to indulge in it.

I'm not sure I understand Paul's comment about 350 kmp - the telemetry showed about 175 - 180 mph. This is a time trial as opposed to a pack start we usually see. Personally I find tunnel vision starts about 220kph as its hard to speed often enough to get used to it. Riding at the IOM would be pretty scary with average speeds now over 130mph which is, I guess, why they do it and I don't.

OK I am getting old, and my speed vision is failing. It was bloody scary though

A friend who raced classic motorcycles used to say that once you started thinking about falling off, it was time to stop racing because you were no longer any good.

And the classics are much slower than these.
