Quote of the morning: Smalley on Campbell

“I don’t want to see it go. no journalist would ever want to see a current affairs show
axed – but if it is axed, there is no-one to blame except the public. New Zealanders
killed Campbell Live, because New Zealanders stopped watching.”

- Rachel Smalley, ‘The fickle old world of TV

No, I never thought I'd quote Rachel Smalley either. Except in jest.

Exactly. TV is very good at giving viewers what they want and it appears they don't want Campbell Live. Those people who think Campbell Live should be saved just have to start watching it and all well be well in the universe.

Cry me a river. I find it hard to know who actually watched that TV3 garbage. I have it denote as channel 33 ie I never have to see it.

I do not really know Who Smalley is; All I remember is some comment on the elections here saying something like " we tried everything we could to change the polls [ toward socialism ] but it didn't work". God in heaven I would rather read Paul Buchanan or Tim Selwyn.

It was never current affairs it was a trench laden with whining. A bit like "Beer O'Clock" except "Whine O'Clock" and far less enjoyable. Good riddance to this outfit but rest assured another of similar ilk will be conjured up.
