A carbon tax?

Libertarianz proposes a carbon tax … with some special conditions.

Very good - nothing like humour to make a point

Actually this is a pretty silly idea because there is little dispute that average global temperatures have risen over the last 150 years and likely to rise further. The only real scientific debate is over the cause. Dr Syun-Ichi Akasofu of University of Alaska says that the warming since 1850 is entirely consistent with the recovery from the Little Ice Age (LIA) plus the Multi-decadal Oscillation (MDO). These natural trends also explain the fact that there has been no warming since 1998 (because this period is in the dip of the MDO, which offsets the overall warming due to the LIA recovery). If he is correct, average global temperatures will continue to increase over the next couple of centuries, irrespective of whether humans reduce their CO2 emissions or not.

So while this Libertarian policy seeks to put the global warming policy debate on a more objective footing, it is still based on the fraudulent scientific premise that human CO2 production is responsible for global warming. Such a policy will continue to penalise the productive in society in a massive exercise in futility. Libertarianz needs to rethink this one.

Sorry to say, but the delivery was so incredibly boring that I just literally switched it off. I can't even tell you how many minutes I watched of this.... it was THAT boring.

Dave, I'm sorry you found a 2 or 3 minute video with rapidly changing images too boring to watch.

Has your doctor ever suggested you try a medication called Ritalin?

Richard, was it only 3 minutes? The droning voiceover made it seem like a lifetime. I think that if you have a point to make its a good idea not to put the audience to sleep before you try and make it... :)

The ideas of smaller government are based in moral principles, stick to those. Denying climate change is a whole 'nother battle and frankly one you are outmatched for.
