Ha(r)den up New Zealand

So everyone’s a bit dark on Andy Haden at the moment … but does it really take a whole week, a series of front pages and ministerial intervention to conclude the man’s an idiot?

Sheesh. Can’t we  grow up and consign the man, his mouth, and his baseless bullshit to the margins where they belong, without all the bleeding hand-wringing in the meantime?

Ha(r)den up New Zealand.

No way, PC. What do you think our braindead media would do for a living if they couldn't endlessly commentate on how inappropriate and unacceptable people's comments were. Goddamn finger-wagging moral crusaders.

Well I don't really care about rugby, but it seems to me that in an era with so many gifted polynesian players, Canterbury remains unusually white. Why not ask the question? It's a good one.

Sure ask a question, don't make an accusation that you aren't willing to prove.

Canterbury is predominantly white, about 10% Maori/Polynesian so what % do you expect from their rugby team?

There's the answer to your question, its called common sense, so fire Hayden, forget about him and lets try to not make this world cup too embarrassing.

I was listening to the radio the other day and a Samoan/Fijian (half'n'half as he described himself) rugby coach phoned in, backing Haden. He basically said "I choose the Polynesian guys for power and the white guys for decision making ability. That's where their strengths lie, and I don't see it as racist in the slightest". He elaborated, and said he'd never rule out one race for the other role, just that "that's how it usually works out".

Is that a racist view?

Canterbury - have always been the red(necks) and the blacks. Famous for poaching other provinces. Rugby IS important, even on these Not PC pages. Long ago there was a debate about understanding the tackled ball laws ~Mr P.C. claimed impossible.

I've got to confess, I watched the Super 14 final on Sunday, and it was a great match. Those Jaapies really put on a good contest. And the Bulls: very impressive.
