Two debates, same result

Two video debates for you this morning, one serious one less-so.  Can you spot which is which?

Here’s the first, from the Pharyngula blog:

You will enjoy yourself immensely watching Hitchens and Fry debating a pair of Catholic apologists. Click on the image below (you can see how the debate ended already)!

And speaking of apologists, here’s two Stephens debating religion. Which is the best one, Islam or Christianity?

I've been a devout reader of Hitchens' work for about a decade. This was an absorbing debate and while I found Hitchens was at his usual erudite best, I felt Fry "carried the crowd!"

The Cardinal and the MP were left to attempt to deny certain undeniable wrongs.

The audience vote was impressive.

It's worth noting that since 'enlightened' Christianity has taken hold in Africa many people - children included - are being tortured and murdered as witches.

Also the Church is distributing anti-Semitic literature, saying that Jews are plotting, in league with the devil, to destroy the Christian faith. Plus ca change...

And Christianity is just as ferociously anti-gay as Islam.

Religion should be about the private individual and their God except with all the big time religions there are all these middle men.

Individuals with their Bibles and Korans are confronted with a religious hierarchy to work through to supposedly get closer to their Gods. Straight off you got to deal with some bishop or Imam. What a sick joke.

ll in love with Stephen Fry just a little bit more watching this. So passionate and erudite he really is superb. He and Hitch wiped the floor with the god-botherers.

Just goes to show you really can't defend the indefensible. When that pathetic woman mentioned that 300 jews were hidden in Vatican City I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking that the 4 MILLION being gassed due to their beliefs were probably not having all that great a time of it.
