Hollow men & women

Mulholland Drive takes against two National Party minister-morons:

First, Paula Bennett:

Stealing from people with no kids to pay for those who choose to have kids is wrong.
    Any questions?

Good.  STFU then.

And Nick Smith:

Nick Smith Doesn't Get It
He sums it up in one sentence:

"Why do we have this idea that somebody has to own a thing?"

Yeah, property rights, what a silly notion!  You FAIL at being a National MP, Nick.  Just bugger off and join the Greens, or RAM, or something.

So what sort of CHANGE was it when these morons took over from the other morons?  And how come you all got so damned excited?

I cheer the new National government only because it is easier to convince a Minister with no principles than it is to convince one with the wrong principles.

A change is as good as a holiday. New National ministers are blank pages that can be written on.

The trouble with trying to convince some unprincipled oily critter is that the moment you are out of the room they'll go off and accept some other argument. After all it is so simply pragmatic to agree with you, smile at you and keep you happy, at least until you're out of sight, hence out of mind.

Anyway, you're not even important enough for them to meet with. What makes you think you can convince any of them about anything?

The difference between a blue socialist and a red one is the colour. The smell remains the same.

We're talking about politicians, not statesmen.

You know politics? From 'poly' meaning many, and 'ticks' meaning small blood-sucking objects.

What's not to be pessimistic about in the current culture?
