Christians call it a day

Don't get too excited by that headline, it's just the Christian Heritage Party who are calling it a day. The legacy of Graham Capill is one cross too many to bear, apparently, for the former party faithful, who try to see their now-empty cup as one just waiting to be filled.
Party leader Ewen McQueen said today it was time for a new Christian movement in New Zealand politics.
Really? If McQueen thinks Capill's reputation won't stain whatever "new movement" the detritus of CHP might "resurrect" from the party's ashes, I think he's underestimating the effect the 'Capill Death Star' is going to have now, and on into the future.

How many Christian political movements do they need?

Christian Heritage (been and gone)
Christian Democrats (been, became Future NZ, now United Future and in decline)
Destiny NZ (been and gone nowhere)

now Family First.

The Christian right are the Nanny Statists of the bedroom and good riddance to them - they'll re emerge by other names, but thankfully over 95% of the voting public aren't interested in regulating the sexual behaviour of consenting adults.

But Scott, the so-called Christian 'right' still invariably call for state fiscal benefits, which makes them the Christian 'left' in my opinion.

A second reason to smack them!
