Muslims: No Fun

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's biggest theme park has called off the country's first "National Muslim Fun Day" because of lack of interest, the park said on Wednesday.

You can't make this stuff up...

On a related note, I am organising a counter-protest in support of Israel, to coincide with the anti-Israel protest in Auckland this Saturday.

The aim of the protest will be to make the following points:

* Israel is fighting a legitimate, moral war of self-defense.

* Hezbollah is an anti-semitic terrorist organisation.

* Hezbollah, having started a war of aggression, is morally culpable for the civilian deaths on both sides - not Israel.

* Lebanon is in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559 that requires them to disarm Hezbollah.

If you are interested in participating, please email me on: dhgbayne@gmail.com

All the antiwar protests I have seen in Auckland over the years were either about the US involvement or Israel's involvement. The true agenda of these protests are anti-US rather than antiwar. There were no antiwar protests during the mass killing of civilians in Dafur , Sudan. No antiwar during the Balkan conflicts in Bosnia, but there was a protest when the US started bombing Serbia in Kosovan crisis, which lead to the stability over there right now. There was no antiwar protest during the massacre in Rwanda. No protest during the Russian campaign in Chechnia, and many many more. Now the pattern emerges. The pattern says that the aim of the antiwar protest is not about war, but protest against the US. Usual names pop up here and there in antiwar protest, such that John Minto, Keith Locke, Matt Mcarten, etc, etc,...

Actaully FF, I think the purpose of those protests was for the public to let the government know they were not interested in participating in those wars that we could forseeably see ourselves caught up in.

The fact that people would be killed, or who was doing it, was not really the point. We were just letting those in power know that we didn't want to be ones doing the killing.

To duncan, PC etc.. Horay! And so we continue down the spiral of insanity. Yet another cute attempt to claim morality and reason in a vacuum.

I have this vision of the fundamentalist muslim world, where there are blogs just like this, espousing the moral virtuosity of their war on exactly the same principles of retaliation, racism and historical wrongs.

Here's to another 60 years of death and destruction. Chin chin.
