Quote of the Day: On test cricket

"Cricket, especially in Test form, is a conceptual sport... it is the great game of the mind."
~ from the Guardian Sportsblog post 'How to make cricket commentary more compelling: through good storytelling'

  1. Is that the same for Aussie Rules? It doesn't seem to have much skill factor to qualify as [quality] sport.
And 90,000 Australians turning up to watch test cricket - can't see them saying to each other, "this is such a great conceptual experience"; "my mind is really being expanded here"

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane or off topic. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
