Farrar with libertarians

Good to see blogger David Farrar keeping better company in Britain than he sometimes does back home. Rubbing shoulders with libertarians for two days at the conference of the UK Libertarian Alliance has got to make him a better person than does rubbing shoulders with local Nats, doesn't it -- and it sure shits all over paying homage to David Cameron.

  1. Actually, he's now calling for higher taxes on tobacco:

As one example I have in the past been the recipient of some lovely hospitality from BAT. Nevertheless I am quite avidly anti-smoking and if I was ever an MP I would happily vote to increase taxation on it to as high as possible, without creating a black market in it. I would of course balance that with tax cuts elsewhere!

Sadly PC I think your optimism may be misplaced; he's a National (Socialist), not a Libertarian. At least not yet ...

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
