Economics as hand-wringing

When your economic theory bears no relation to economic reality, instead of giving good advice when things go wrong, all you’re left with is hand-wringing.

The title of the article is ‘The Sad State of the American Worker,’ but what it really underscores is the sad state of economic theory and the economists who come with it. Read the article if you must, but the authors have no idea what went wrong.

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane or off topic. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
