THE REAL DEAL

  1. Just *amazing!* It really is. We are being price-gouged in a really big way.

I think Aussies are paying "through the nose" too. I would guess that in Aussie, this house would be $AUS500K+.

  2. That's pretty expensive for Texas actually. You can get something decent in San Antonio for half that. For example: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/9-Even-Post-Pl-San-Antonio-TX-78238/60081441_zpid/

  3. Peter, if you really want to understand why the properties are so expansive here, read: http://www.foldvary.net/works/geoaus.html
The bottom line is that with or without credit expansion you would still have property bubbles in a situation where there is no tax on the unearned income from land.

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane or off topic. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
