By Central Bank I refer to an institution which has been granted special government powers and which is able to bring into being un-backed fiat money. Completely un-necessary, this institution has been the cause of inflation.

BankerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11906042.post-37122811034435108852007-09-25T05:06:00.000+12:002007-09-25T05:06:00.000+12:00PC, This is a meaty issue to debate. I would argue that we do but at the same time i think there is an argument for open source currency.

By this i mean complimentary, alternative and even virtual currencies. After all money is a process for exchanging goods and services.

If we decouple money from value and make it purely the energy of transaction (and measurement of activity) then perhaps the process is made easier.

I'd like to examine this more closely on my blog (www.sustento.org.nz/blog) but i'm in Europe for a month so not too inclined to spend hours at the PC!

One thing is for sure. We may need a central bank but we don't need any more central bankers :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11906042.post-64061778506134804022007-09-21T17:59:00.000+12:002007-09-21T17:59:00.000+12:00... but they don't hold the economy in thier mind ...... but they don't hold the economy in thier mind like some Dune Mentat...

Surely they just get whispered the password to the Excel spreadsheet.
