"All of this helps to explain why a forcible annexation of Greenland would ultimately also harm U.S. interests. To trade in the most stable and powerful military alliance in modern history for control over a frigid and sparsely populated island—plus a place for Trump in the history books—is a bad deal for the American people. But that doesn’t mean that the Trump White House will see things the same way."~ Yascha Mounk from his post 'They Really Just Might Invade Greenland'

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane or off topic. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
This is undoubtedly true. Both history, and my own personal experience demonstrates that even if you’re strong and competent, you can’t control everything. A better strategy from a selfish perspective is not to subjugate people and have total control (with total control comes more responsibility to manage everything effectively), but instead seek out allies who have interests you can align with.
