Labour's coal-powered cars ...

  1. There are many strong reasons to condemn the new subsidies/taxes, but I don't think this is one of them. The majority of NZ's power comes from hydro, and 13% of our annual consumption produced by the Manapouri hydro station will soon be freed up when the Tiwai Point aluminum smelter closes. I've seen exponents of electric cars say this is where the power will come from.
