ReplyDeleteTo be fair, there ARE means of testing climate models. OIS-11, for example, is used extensively to test GCMs, because it is the best analogue for temperature changes seen today.
DeleteThe fact that no GCM has successfully predicted OIS-11 based on data from OIS-10 is what convinced me that GCMs weren't worth looking at. They fail ground-trothing. But by making that argument I accept the premise that GCM results could, in theory, be replicated.
