A 100 square metre house cuddling up to a Sausalito cliff with a view out to the sea, designed in 1959 by architect Violeta Autumn for herself.
It’s a small jewel James Bond could have lived in.

It looks to be beautifully built as well - a craftsman's work.

Yuk. A timber and concrete monster. Where's the Spanish white paint/?.
ReplyDeleteDo you have the publication date and page numbers and magazine of where this was published?
ReplyDeleteHi k. The Wright Chat site has the page numbers etc. and a good discussion.
DeleteI'm afraid this is the only house of hers I know about -- and a quick Google search reveals very little more, unfortunately.
Do you have any of her other work?
ReplyDeleteVioleta was a master architect. She also designed Rutherford Hill in Napa County. It is unfortunate she is gone now.
