He's not claiming that unions lower wages, but that unions restrict freedom of association.

On your point though, if there is correlation between strong unions and prosperity as you claim, I suspect any cause-effect relationship is generally the opposite of what you assume. The more productive a company is, the more they require good labour, and the more clout a union can potentially have in any negotiation. There's no benefit to an employee having their union being 'strong' when the employer simply can't afford to meet their demands.

Freedom of association does not extend to criminal activity. Of course any attempt to "deal with" gangs should be focused on the criminal activity and not the association per se. I agree some on the Right lose sight of that, but two wrongs don't make a right.MarkThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06199883270652041621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11906042.post-83731900009571951532020-02-24T18:20:20.593+13:002020-02-24T18:20:20.593+13:00of course Gary ignores the fact that the most pros...of course Gary ignores the fact that the most prosperous states in the U.S are those with the strongest union membership.
As far as NZ goes...'freedom of association' is very interesting given the rights obsession with gangs and their promises to deal with them.
Queensland is a good example of this mind set.
Blazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09421486631448981070noreply@blogger.com
