The ISIS article was particularly welcome, since I needed a good laugh this morning.<br /><br />The article on unions and unemployment was interesting too. When I was younger and a bit more naive, I used to think that the basic idea of unions was a good one, it was just unfortunate that unions appeal to the kinds of people who can't get or keep a job on their own merits. As I get older and learn more about the reality and history of the union movement, I've come to think that the whole union model is fundamentally rotten. Can an institution that relies on and is based on coercion ever truly be a force for good in society? I don't think so.Andersonnoreply@blogger.com
