"Can someone explain how the deindustrialisation of the UK and Germany [et al] will save the planet?"I still struggle to understand why they sacrifice their industries, jobs and prosperity only to outsource production to Asia, which increases global emissions. Does it make any sense to you?"~ Michael A. Arouet

Offshore emissions

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.

It is literally two countries overflowing with political guilt-tripping, largely generated by the intellectual/media/bureaucratic classes, about their past (Germany's being obvious, the UK being to blame for the crime of the industrial revolution), in order to enable the transfer of industry to a country that wants to destroy the liberal-democratic capitalist order, and another that is a ultra-bureaucratic crony state that notwithstanding its history of socialism, is single-mindedly focused on making money by whatever means possible (including buying and selling cheap oil from an invading nuclear power).
