That's entirely correct, and why it's largely useless to blame a poor political situation on politicians, trying to convince them to do something different. We may have contempt for them, but directing any of our energy their way is mostly pointless. It's like blaming a manufacturer of a cheap product that doesn't last but still sells well, for not making something higher quality. Both are just giving the market what it wants.
We welcome thoughtful disagreement. But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me. PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
