‘The Night Watch,’ by Rembrandt (and King Crimson)

Artist: Rembrandt, Dimensions: 3.63 m x 4.37 m, Location: Rijksmuseum, Created: 1642

Rembrandt’s painting of Amsterdam’s compnay of militia men:

The picture was a huge success at the time, not least because it turns a fairly humdrum subject into a dynamic work of art.

Not many rock bands write a song about a classic painting, not like an Old Master like this one.

But King Crimson have never been any ordinary band of rock masters, have they. (But neither have their videos ever been up to much...)

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
