Quote of the Day, Follow-Up: Creating jobs with capital

Yesterday I posted about the destructive consequences of Trump's protectionism.
It turned out to be very controversial, because many people are unemployed or
underemployed, and many more are scared about losing their jobs. Fear does
not make for a good economics lesson.
“They want to know what we can do. I have one idea.
“Deregulate the raising of capital. Eliminate licensing, supervision, the artificial
distinction of "accredited" investor, the Securities Act, the SEC, [Commerce
Commision, CGTs] …The whole sorry mess. Get rid of it.
“Then startups will be able to raise capital. Capital is the prerequisite to hiring.”

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
