Quote of the day: On thinking for yourself…

“No man can use his brain to think for another. All of the functions of the body
and spirit are private. They cannot be shared or transferred.” – Ayn Rand

  1. Maybe but I'm not sure how the concept of a collective conciousness fits in to that. I'm not sure we are so independant that there's not something going on below the surface. When otherwise sensible people go nuts at a riot maybe that's not them doing it alone - there's a collective influence that drives collective behaviour. When sober and settled you may wonder what the heck you were doing.

The Bible hints, in my view, how connected all things are and, reducing us to the electrical impulses that make us function, I can't see any reason for rejecting the potential for a bit of hiss and static in the wiring.

We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
But we do (ir)regularly moderate comments -- and we *will* delete any with insulting or abusive language. Or if they're just inane. It’s okay to disagree, but pretend you’re having a drink in the living room with the person you’re disagreeing with. This includes me.
PS: Have the honesty and courage to use your real name. That gives added weight to any opinion.
