Illustrator Arthur Rackham produced an entire folio of beautiful illustrations to accompany Wagner's 'Ring.' This scene comes from the last scene of the final night of the four-night 'Ring Cycle,' in which Bruunnhilde leaps into the flames, and in that act she brings about the downfall of the Gods and a new world swept clean. Wonderful stuff.We welcome thoughtful disagreement.
